Testimony of Dr. Neil Corselius

In March of 1968 I was having serious doubts about my salvation. What brought about these doubts was the fact that God was not working in my life as He was working in my Christian boss's life. God had never done anything for me personally. In addition, my first child was due in 2 months, and I realized I would be responsible for teaching him about a God I did not really know. These facts drove me to read the Bible that Monday night. In the book of John, I came across verses that Jesus was speaking to the religious leaders of that day. You must understand, I had been religious all my life (attending church regularly, being baptized, and trying to do good in order to please God). Jesus said to these Pharisees and to me, "Search the scriptures for in them they tell of me and you would not come to me that you might have life." All my life I had believed about Jesus with my head but had never accepted Him personally into my heart. In that moment, I knew that I was not a part of God's family, and I was headed to Hell. That night, I asked Jesus to forgive my sins and to come into my life. He did just that!! God now began to work amazing things in my daily veterinary life to prove Himself to me.

Many examples could be given of God's miraculous grace, but I will mention just two. One Sunday evening I received a call to a farm to tend to a down cow with a calcium deficiency. It was 6:00 p.m. and church was at 7:00 p.m. A special speaker was preaching which I wanted very much to hear. When I entered the barn, the cow staggered to her feet, and I could not get close to that beast. After five minutes of fruitless effort, I finally stopped and asked the Lord to make that cow lay down. The moment I voiced that prayer, the cow hit the deck like someone had taken her feet out from under her. I walked up and put the rope on her, treated her, and walked into church at 1 minute to 7:00 p.m.

Secondly, a Christian farm brother also had a cow down in a deep ravine. After treating the animal and urging her to get up with no success, I told Bob we needed a tractor and a piece of plywood to strap the cow to and pull her out of this gully onto level ground. As Bob walked to the barn, the thought occurred to me, "Bob is your child, I'm in your family, and this cow is under your sovereign control. Please, Lord, get this cow up." Once again, the animal responded and got to her feet with no urging from me. She then walked 30 yards down the narrow slippery stream and up a steep path to the pasture. As the cow emerged over the top of the hill, I could hear Bob on his tractor exclaim, "Praise the Lord." The Bible says "those that come to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him."
