Other Poems by PaulIn That Golden Streeted City
by Paul H. Leaman
Oh how strange do I feel
and yet somehow as I should.
I seem to glide effortlessly
and feel so profoundly good !
Brilliant light shining around,
at first I just couldn't see.
Then beauty all around did appear,
so grand and beyond degree.
A multitude of voices I hear,
oh the joy and rapture they bring.
I scarce could believe my ears
as I heard all Heaven sing.
Out from the throne of God
a pure river, crystal clear and flowing.
Trees along the river bank,
yielded fruit and leaves for healing.
The city itself was dazzling,
precious jewels were its foundation.
With gates of pearls and streets of gold
far, far beyond all expectation.
Ah, then I see the Lord God Almighty
and I fall upon my face,
and I cry out with tears a flowing
and thank him for his marvelous grace.
