Karen Harrell is an FCA graduate in her eighth year as a K-4 teacher. She and her husband (also a graduate of FCA) have a son who graduated from the school in 2009 and a daughter in 10th grade here. Mrs. Harrell has an exciting childhood as a missionary kid. She, her parents, and her brother were in Papua New Guinea for four years. Mrs. Harrell reports that living in a third-world country "made me realize the blessings God has given us in America."
God has burdened Mrs. Harrell not only with the academic aspects of these young children, but the spiritual aspects as well. For many of these children, this is their first experience in a structured classroom setting. Mrs. Harrell's goals are for them to be able to have fun while they are learning and to show them God's love while preparing them for Kindergarten.
Mrs. Joyce Scott grew up in Rockville, MD. She accepted the Lord as her Saviour at age 15. She and her husband have three children, Tim (2005 FCA graduate), Leah (2009 FCA graduate), and Emily (2010 FCA graduate). Mrs. Scott has been teaching here since 2000 and has a love for the Lord and a love for the students in her classroom.
Patty Cole grew up in Randallstown, Maryland. Though she was not raised in a Christian home, she attended Sunday school as a child and accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of 26. She studied at Frederick Community College and later began serving as a teacher's aide at Frederick Christian Academy in 2005. Mrs. Cole has since become FCA's K-3 teacher, and she says that "it has been marvelous to be at FCA in a caring, Christian, God-honoring school." Though her life has been filled with many tragedies, she prays that God will use the trials for His glory, and she is thankful for God's salvation and for His blessings. Two of those blessings are her wonderful husband, Ron, and her very special grandson, Ellijah, who attends FCA.
